Overview[]

Transformations alter Anton and Annie's moveset slightly, and are usually activated by touching or being near certain objects. Most transformations are used to destroy 1-Ton blocks, though a few of them have specific blocks that they destroy. Most levels introduce a transformation. Almost every transformation reappears in Hell Manor.

WIP

Sewer Shark[]

Main Article: Sewer Shark

Sp shark sleep

The shark, sleeping, prior to being activated.

Introduced in: Slowroast Sewer in "Ride the Sewer Shark!"

Activated by: Touching the Sewer Shark.

Lost by: Hitting the invisible trigger to deactivate it.

The Sewer Shark causes Anton or Annie to begin moving forward quickly while on top of it. It takes a second to turn while moving. By pressing the Clutch button, you move forward slightly and can destroy 1-ton blocks. The transformation kills any enemy it touches. By holding up, you can ascend waterfalls. The shark is used to collect the Spray Paint in the room "Keep Your Fin Up." The shark also returns in Hell Manor in the room "Hot Shelter".

Tornado[]

Sp anton tornadoSpin

Anton, while in the Tornado transformation.

Introduced in: Cinnamon Springs in "Try This Trick and Spin It"

Activated by: Standing on top of a Tornado Spring.

Lost by: Hitting a wall 3 times, touching a slide, or hitting a Cinnamon Stick.

The Tornado makes Anton or Annie spin rapidly and move forward in the direction you were facing upon touching the spring. You can only turn by hitting a wall, where the timer at the top of the Tornado will count down. You can hold the clutch button to spin faster. The transformation automatically destroys Golden Tornado Bricks (unlike the game, which says you can only break them by holding Clutch.) The transformation is also triggered by being caught in Jewel Ghoul's card attack, but with 5 hits instead of 3. The tornado is used to collect the Spray Paint in the room "Daruma with a View" (accessed from Daruma Den and Wabi Sabi Wallop). The tornado also returns in Hell Manor in the room "Devil's Diary".

Bomb[]

Sp anton bombBounce

Anton, bouncing in the Bomb form.

Introduced in: Bomb Candy Mines in "Dribble Test"

Activated by: Standing under a Bomb Press.

Lost by: Hitting a Bomb Rock Block, jumping into a cannon, or hitting an invisible trigger.

The Bomb causes Anton/Annie to bounce up and down and move faster. Jumping causes you to slam downward and then quickly back up. Clutching launches you forward slightly. The transformation is used to destroy Bomb Rock Blocks, where it is immediately lost after touching them. The transformation is also somewhat bugged, as it is possible to lose the transformation while the Bomb Rock Blocks aren't destroyed. This is one of two Timed transformations, where your health is replaced with a bomb fuse. All damage shortens the fuse. If the fuse runs out, Anton or Annie dies. The bomb is used to collect the Spray Paint in the room "Corner Pocket." The bomb also returns in Hell Manor in the room "Bounds of Hell".

Torpedo[]

Sp anton torpedoMove

Anton, while in the Torpedo form.

Introduced in: The Big Bath in "Torpedo Juice"

Activated by: Entering a Torpedo Ring

Lost by: Hitting a wall or entering a cannon.

The Torpedo causes the player to move forward in the direction the ring is facing. This form can only move in water. Entering a torpedo ring while already in the form simply launches you forward. Anton will constantly scream while in this transformation. The torpedo is used to collect the Memento in the room "Backwater" (accessed from Torpedo Juice). The torpedo also returns in Hell Manor in the room "Sequestered Slalom".

Pinball[]

Danton!

Anton, while in the Pinball Transformation (ignore Danton, he's fine.)

Introduced in: Pinball Mire in "Cavern Catastrophe"

Activated by: Entering a Pinball Dispenser (from the mouth.)

Lost by: Entering a Pinball Dispenser (from behind) or entering a cannon.

The pinball transformation allows the player to play the Pinball sections, where jumping activates the paddles. Clutching moves the player forward slightly. Anton or Annie's sprite is also shrunken while in the Pinball form. This is one of two Timed transformations. Dying at a checkpoint where you're supposed to have the transformation respawns you with it. The pinball transformation is used to collect the cassette tape in the room "Cavern Catastrophe" as well as Paul in the room "Rockslide Rumble". The transformation also returns in Hell Manor in the rooms "Pinballs to the Wall" and "Satan Coaster."

Segway[]

Introduced in: The Mad Mall in "Rattling the Bars" (or "The Great Race")

Activated by: Touching a segway.

Lost by: Entering an air duct.

The segway is a "transformation" that works nearly identical to the Sewer Shark, without the turning gimmick and clutching to destroy metal blocks. The transformation is the least used throughout the game, only appearing in two rooms. It is also one of two that does not appear in Hell Manor.

Jetpack[]

Sp anton rocketGrab

Anton grabbing the Jetpack.

Introduced in: Crimson Factory in "Rocket Power"

Activated by: Touching (or going over) a jetpack.

Lost by: Hitting an invisible trigger or entering a cannon.

The Jetpack launches Anton or Annie forward before allowing them to move up and down while still going forward. The transformation automatically destroys any block or enemy it hits, with the exception of 1-Ton Blocks (where you have to clutch to destroy them). The tornado later returns in Hell Manor in the rooms "Sequestered Slalom", "This is the End", "Blimp Bonanza", and "The Big Leap" (if you avoid the cannons in the prior room).
