Description[]

Ring-A-Ding is one of the major bosses in ANTONBLAST, the 3rd one if only counting major bosses and the 7th one if counting the Bossbusters. He can be fought after The Mysterious Glasshouse. Defeating him unlocks Hell's Waiting Room. He is often prone to using a lot of stuff at the same time, and thus waste most of it.

Appearance[]

Ring-A-Ding is a sentient bell-like monster made of presumably copper or gold (might actually be aluminum foil) with cyan bloodshot eyes, a large, blue, lumpy uvula, and jagged teeth. During the third phase of his fight, his body is split in two, revealing a yellow, gooey substance that has a realistic eye that changes every few seconds in the center of it, six black, really long arms and six pairs of white wings.

During Satan's boss fight. Ring-A-Ding appears except that his bell is now broken, lacking the lumpy uvula, and his eyes are still darkened. it's assumed that he might have been presumely deceased after being strucked by the moon. Being unable to use his Third form either.

Boss Fight[]

Ring-A-Ding is a complex, yet high-octane boss. which does make sense. The player's main way of hurting him should be to Clutch 'n' Bash, though it's often better to hit the corpses of his minions.

Phase 1[]

Ring-A-Ding starts out deceptively simple. he only has 3 attacks in this phase. however, small blue bells named Small Mini Ding may appear, shooting projectiles at the player, just to keep them on their toes, the player can also utilize them to damage Ring-A-Ding if he's out of Clutch 'n' Bash reach. A single yellow bell named Mini Ding will also appear under the player to follow their horizontal position, or on the left/right side of the player to follow their vertical position. The bell will follow the player for a few seconds before stopping to charge up a beam. Once fully charged, Mini Ding will fire it in the direction it faces. The beam can also damage Ring-A-Ding if it hits him.

  • Plummet: Ring-A-Ding drops directly downwards, often aiming for the player. if he starts glowing before dropping, he will stick himself into the ground if he misses.
  • Uvula Stretch: Ring-A-Ding forces his Uvula straight down to the ground, this is a great window to get lots of damage done to him.
  • For Whom It Tolls: Ring-A-Ding emits a deafening knell that summons a circle of blue bells around the player, they will then home in on the player. if the player slips out of the circle last minute, the bells will all knock each other out of the air, and can then be used as a projectile to damage Ring-A-Ding.

Phase 2[]

After sucking up several Biffs, Ring-A-Ding zaps the player laughing manically thinking he has killed them... or so he thought, after seeing the player as an angel, realizing that he had made a huge error, he retreats into the sky out of fear, the player must now fly up to Ring-A-Ding while collecting Poker Chips (if they want to.) and avoiding Hazards. More specifically, Mini Dings will fire a beam in a fixed direction, Akin to Sans' Gaster Blasters. eventually, getting to space, where the player has to avoid Mini Dings, Asteroids, and Green Hate meteors, then running headfirst into Ring-A-Ding. After landing into the solid Ground, Ring-A-Ding plummets to his doom as the duo does their Victory Animation... But.

Phase 3[]

Well, Turns out Ring-A-Ding not only hated being sent hurling back to the ground, but he is shown to have one last trick up his sleeve. Now he rises again and this time. He's revealed to be an angelic seraphim form (or a biblically accurate bell if the previous description was too much to understand), having six wings and arms and claws, as his shell is glued by a yellow goop with a realistic eye, causing Anton to jaw-drop in complete sheer terror and Annie to outright scream in horror.

This phase sort of combines Phase 1 and 2, you'll have to dodge one of Mini Dings' beams while hitting one of the Small Mini Ding's right at Ring-A-Ding.

Eventually dealing enough hits, he'll come to the foreground with the moon in his grasp. and throws it towards the player, but with a quick press of the button, you can hit that thing like a baseball and send it flying back. concluding the boss fight.

Achievements[]

Hey, Talking Bell!
Defeat Ring-a-Ding. Gluttony can apply to much more than the size of a meal.

Trivia[]

  • Just like Brawlbuster, Tallbuster, Maulbuster, minus Smallbuster. Same applies to Vexmin and Jewel Goon with the exception to other enemies that use a different scream, Ring-A-Ding also shares the same scream sound effect whenever a Ballbuster is killed (DYEEAARRRGHHH!!!). This plays when transitioning to the 2nd phase after Anton/Annie revives.
  • Ring-A-Ding, like Tallbuster, will not attack as long as he isn’t hit, appearing to be a normal bell. When you do hit him, he cries groggily, and he wakes up, starting the boss fight.
  • If you restart from Checkpoint or get a Bad Luck during his third phase. The Towers would strangely come back.
  • Each boss in the game (Besides Satan) has a sin assigned to them from the Seven Deadly Sins. The sin for Ring-A-Ding is Gluttony, as he excessively attacks you.[1]
  • His final phase is a nod to what a biblical angel actually appears like.
  • His second and third phases are based on two sayings: "Ask not for who the bell tolls; it tolls for thee" and "Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings."
  • The yellow laser-firing bells can actually damage him.
  • His first phase's music seems to be a lot quieter than most music in the game and uses less instruments.
  • Ring-A-Ding's third and final phase is surprisingly Terrifying because of the Realistic Eye that rapidly changes, though it can be really difficult if you aren't careful and not timing it correctly.
  • In the concept art. Ring-a-Ding's final phase was originally going to look a whole lot different, instead of having a rusty texture. It was gonna have Satan's palette and horns, one of the six Micro Demons was gonna hold one of it's wings.
  • Ring-a-Ding was originally gonna have his own epilogue in the end credits. But it went unused as it focused only on the characters. In one of the game files. Ring-a-Ding would be shown alive and well and sold his likeness to become a mascot for a fast food restaurant, as the firm elected to not purchase voice rights. "RING-A-DING SOLD HIS LIKENESS TO A NATIONAL FAST FOOD CHAIN SEARCHING FOR A MASCOT. THE FIRM ELECTED NOT TO PURCHASE HIS VOICE RIGHTS." It's unknown if it would be brought back in future updates.
    • The fast food chain is more than likely Taco Bell.
  • During Ring-a-Ding's Seraphim form, you can see the poor Ballbusters and Pippos getting sucked in the Seraphim form.
  • His blue tongue is also the clapper (the part that rings a bell)
  • Despite the finisher having the Duo whacking the moon back, Ring-A-Ding's Seraphim form isn't shown being strucked down.
  • In the fourth part of "My Experience as Designer". JB Long stated about an old lore where Mitch Moonits would eventually break free from the moon after the fight against Ring-A-Ding.
  • At the beginning of his second phase, he uses Annie's voice clip whenever she takes damage. But this time it's low pitched in order to make it sound deeper.
